Exclusive Interview with IBI

Arewa Artiste Ibrahim Iliya aka IBI had an exclusive interview with JCB recently where he told us a lot about himself.. Read interview below:

JC: Tell Us  about "Zanfada" what inspired that Song?

IBI: #Zanfada is a hash tag constantly written after every post  by a Facebook friend Engr Willy Romeo, he makes sense and zanfada seems like a back up for every punch line he throws. I got enthusiastic about it and decided to do a song titled ZANFADA so I sought his permission which he granted though my lyrics are inspirations driven from the day-to-day activities consisting of the truth, the lies, the usuals amongst many others. Basically I am only trying to point out some facts we tend to neglect in our life affairs.

JC:  There's a lot of Talk about Kaduna girls crushing and seeking your attention. How true is that and is there a special girl?

IBI: Hahahaha....like really? about Kaduna girls crushing and seeking my attention, I would say its only normal to want to associate with who or what's in vogue, I would do the same if in their shoes because the world is reformed and everyone tries to aim the positive therefore I don't see the wrong in doing that. Though I haven't really seen girls seeking my attention so I would say the statement isn't factual. And yes Ofcus there is a very very special girl in my life.

JC:  Name two things you can't leave home without?

IBI: The two things I can't leave home without is my diary and my phone

JC:  when is IBI giving his fans an album?

IBI: I will be dropping an album really soon, because recently I have been receiving allot of messages about that from the fans so I will do it soon..

JC: what is the hardest part of being an artiste from The North?

IBI: The hardest part of being an artiste from the north is the little or no appreciation of talent....if that is solved I think we will go a long way...

JC:  Your most embarrassing moment ?

IBI: My most embarrassing moment happened when I was young I visited a girl that I liked and tried to talk to her...and this was her reply "leave me with your black face" in front of my friends, my friends laughed at me and I was really embarrassed :( .

JC:  Is there anything you don’t like happening in the Arewa Music industry you want to point out.

IBI: The Arewa music industry is developing very fast, for now I will say I am abit satisfied with all that is happening, it's way better than before and we are growing, but to improve it more working as a team will help put Arewa on the map.....

JC: So are some of the challenges you’ve faced during  your video shoot?

IBI: There are a lot of challenges in shooting a music video in this part of the world, starting from the weather, the location and equipments....the weather in the north is dusty and it affect shooting, sometimes in the location we don't get access easily due to security challenges and more....

JC:  Your swag is on Fire.. Who inspires your dress sense?

IBI: Maybe this is the right time to mention this, am diving into Fashion designing, am so in love with fashion, I love creating things from the scratch and actually I studied architecture so I guess it's still part of the dream....so Arewa should watch out for #ZanfadaApparel

JC: what words do you have for your Fans? And how can they get/ download your Music?

IBI: My fans are a big part of me, I love them all and will continue to do my best to make them happy....people can get my music via my website www.ibrahimiliya.com or they can connect with me via Instagram @ibiofficial_
