Who is Bie? Read Interesting things about this Gospel Artiste

Gospel artist Bie, had an exclusive interview with JCB recently where she gave reasons for
long absence on the music scene and future plans..read interview below;

JC. Tell us about yourself

My name is Biola Fagbemi, I am from osun state and I reside in Kaduna

JC. Name two things you can't leave home without?

My wrist watch & keys...house key ofcourse...lolzz

JC. Aside music what do you have a flair for?

Reading/Researching&Learning new exciting things

JC. Motivation behind doing/making music

My love for music and the desire to share positive message that can cause a deliberate change in people's lives

JC. Reaction to the general notion that KD female artistes are lazy‎ and inconsistent in the music scene/industry.

Hahaha...if there was an association for lazy inconsistent female artists, I am certain that I will be the chairlady...lolzz...and yes, some of us are lazy and inconsistent but I know a few that are committed to their art...

For  some of us, it is a lack of true passion for the art, and other times it is a lack of support/recognition from the public... some female artist have been misinformed & even taken advantage of, all in an attempt to make a mark in the music scene, hence the inconsistency and lack of commitment. The truth is, female artists need to work harder for love, support and recognition...especially in rap music because it is dominated by very talented, fan loving male folks.

JC. Major constraint(s) ‎as a female artiste‎

Ehmmmm....Lack of self(time)management. As a female artist, the different phases ( and pressure) in life tends to mould you, change your perspective & also make you question alot of things...Creating a balance between work, family, school  and music is quite challenging.

JC. Reason(s) responsible for the for Bie's long absence on the music scene.‎

Like I said, it's a lack of balance...

JC. ‎Personal opinion on the attitude of the male folks (artistes) towards female artistes in these parts‎

I always over look it and never take it too personal no matter how much it hurts.

JC. Working on any new project? If yes...

Yes I am as a matter of fact, and for a while now I've been working, underground though, putting together some joints which is part of a project I intend to release in the nearest future‎.  However, I might be letting the cat out of the back real soon. So to all my fans who thought I was gone, hehe well watch out for the COME BACK.

JC. Message to other female artistes out there and the male folks alike

To all artists, originality & authenticity is non negotiable...creatively putting a twist to a song and adding a bit of your personality (being yourself) is what I believe will make an artist different from the rest.

And to female artist, we must put in even more work in order to stand out.

FIST- Hahahahaahah.. you should have asked between them and me who is better. They are two rappers I respect and I admire their skill. Very unique

JC- According to you, who is the best Female artiste in Kaduna and why is that person your best

FIST- My best Female artist(s) have stopped rapping. Jenifer Jblaq (she stopped), hanatu flamez (she stopped). So I will not have a favorite before she stops again.

JC- So what is the biggest challenge you’ve faced working with other artistes here in Kaduna ?

FIST- I've not faced any significant challenge yet. Besides vontrap. Peer pressure. Lol

JC- Is there anything you don’t like happening in the Kaduna Music industry you want to point out.

FIST- Kaduna music industry is growing, and gaining ground. Eff-ell, DIA, leke benson, IBI,leo owan to name a few are doing good and pushing the limits. OAPs like Jakes and Morpheus be giving us exposure.  How did I forget EaziBobWizzy, he de push limits. We have good stuff here. Youth groups have also done a lot.  Our shows need a little, step up (actually it may be a big step up) But it's been commendable. We still have work to do though. All of us.

JC- Most artistes switched from doing what many people now brand as "Gospel music" to secular because according to them, its doesn't pay much and no fulfilment.. are you finding fulfillment in what you are doing in relation with serving God?

FIST- I try not to concern myself with that topic. Lol. Serving God is sha beyond music, aim is a well done someday.

JC- Any last word, something you want your Fans to know?

FIST- Your fans, that statement always cracks me. Life is too short to be living for yourself alone.

Exclusive Interview with IBI

Arewa Artiste Ibrahim Iliya aka IBI had an exclusive interview with JCB recently where he told us a lot about himself.. Read interview below:

JC: Tell Us  about "Zanfada" what inspired that Song?

IBI: #Zanfada is a hash tag constantly written after every post  by a Facebook friend Engr Willy Romeo, he makes sense and zanfada seems like a back up for every punch line he throws. I got enthusiastic about it and decided to do a song titled ZANFADA so I sought his permission which he granted though my lyrics are inspirations driven from the day-to-day activities consisting of the truth, the lies, the usuals amongst many others. Basically I am only trying to point out some facts we tend to neglect in our life affairs.

JC:  There's a lot of Talk about Kaduna girls crushing and seeking your attention. How true is that and is there a special girl?

IBI: Hahahaha....like really? about Kaduna girls crushing and seeking my attention, I would say its only normal to want to associate with who or what's in vogue, I would do the same if in their shoes because the world is reformed and everyone tries to aim the positive therefore I don't see the wrong in doing that. Though I haven't really seen girls seeking my attention so I would say the statement isn't factual. And yes Ofcus there is a very very special girl in my life.

JC:  Name two things you can't leave home without?

IBI: The two things I can't leave home without is my diary and my phone

JC:  when is IBI giving his fans an album?

IBI: I will be dropping an album really soon, because recently I have been receiving allot of messages about that from the fans so I will do it soon..

JC: what is the hardest part of being an artiste from The North?

IBI: The hardest part of being an artiste from the north is the little or no appreciation of talent....if that is solved I think we will go a long way...

JC:  Your most embarrassing moment ?

IBI: My most embarrassing moment happened when I was young I visited a girl that I liked and tried to talk to her...and this was her reply "leave me with your black face" in front of my friends, my friends laughed at me and I was really embarrassed :( .

JC:  Is there anything you don’t like happening in the Arewa Music industry you want to point out.

IBI: The Arewa music industry is developing very fast, for now I will say I am abit satisfied with all that is happening, it's way better than before and we are growing, but to improve it more working as a team will help put Arewa on the map.....

JC: So are some of the challenges you’ve faced during  your video shoot?

IBI: There are a lot of challenges in shooting a music video in this part of the world, starting from the weather, the location and equipments....the weather in the north is dusty and it affect shooting, sometimes in the location we don't get access easily due to security challenges and more....

JC:  Your swag is on Fire.. Who inspires your dress sense?

IBI: Maybe this is the right time to mention this, am diving into Fashion designing, am so in love with fashion, I love creating things from the scratch and actually I studied architecture so I guess it's still part of the dream....so Arewa should watch out for #ZanfadaApparel

JC: what words do you have for your Fans? And how can they get/ download your Music?

IBI: My fans are a big part of me, I love them all and will continue to do my best to make them happy....people can get my music via my website www.ibrahimiliya.com or they can connect with me via Instagram @ibiofficial_

Exclusive Interview with Gloria Ballason

Gloria Ballason had an exclusive interview with JCB recently where she told us alot about herself.

Gloria Mabeiam Ballason is a lawyer and the CEO of House of Justice, Nigeria, a human-rights radio call-in program, of which she is the host. She is also the Law columnist in a national newspaper. She serves at a regional level as a conflict mediator for the herder-farmer conflict that has claimed so many lives. Gloria's passion for justice for victims of medical negligence and atrocities has led to the establishment of the Molluma Yakubu Loma Center for Medical Law, where she is executive director. Gloria has a degree in Law, a master's in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, a second master's in International Affairs and Strategic Studies, and is pursing a third master's in Law (LLM). Gloria is a Mandela Washington Fellow, a  President Barack Obama instituted fellowship  awarded to  young outstanding  African leaders.
Read the full interview below...

JC- How would you describe yourself?

Gloria Ballason - An ebony angwa girl living to make a difference.

JC- What's your favorite holiday?

Gloria Ballason- A getaway with my favorite people with good music, an inspiring book, lots of laughter and a side event with Amini, Tehillah and Yusha, my nephews and niece.

JC- What is the one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Gloria Ballason- That I’m mushy and a sucker for love.

JC- Do you like pets?

Gloria Ballason- Not really but I’m happy to share a space with one if it’s as faithful as Shiyal, my childhood dog.

JC - What's your perfect Saturday afternoon like?

Gloria Ballason- Anything between lazying away, watching movies or dressing to the nines to attend a social event.

JC- How do you cope with criticism against you?

Gloria Ballason- I try to pull away emotionally from the criticism to find the facts and to be honest about them. I pick what I can and dump what I don’t need. I’m at peace with myself and have long come to terms with the fact that I am human and will make mistakes but since I’m also one person who pays attention to details and dislike repeating mistakes, I have emerged as my biggest critic that way it has helped to be honest and objective about criticisms. However, I have found life too kind to me. People have always fought my battles. They fight what is unfair and keep me at the safe zone.

JC- What is your approach to resolving conflict?

Gloria Ballason- First, not to allow a conflict situation degenerate into a crisis situation. Second, to own up to faults and remain firm on rights. Third to add the experience to life’s kit and look to be better not bitter.

JC- Describe an instance where your work was criticised.

Gloria Ballason- I was head girl of a missionary high school and remember turning students back to their hostel because they were asked to attend school on a Sallah holiday. I was criticized for being insubordinate but I put up an argument to the effect that the school needed to be a clear example of submission to authority and that since it was a national holiday, we would be wrong to disobey the Nigerian state. Eventually,(surprisingly too) I won the argument and the school made it a policy. It was a light bulb moment that has continued to remind me that truth prevails when we insist it should.

JC- A lot of people look up to you, who inspires you, who is your role model?

Gloria Ballason- I am inspired by the Maker of life and the amazing people in my circle. I like to make my boast in the number of good people I am blessed to have in my life. They are all shades of goodness and greatness, all dimensions of kindness and cut across ages. Anyone with a world as rich and colourful as mine would be on autopilot inspiration.

JC- As a single lady with high profile, how do you cope with relationship, toasters and work?

Gloria Ballason- Let me start with work. My life ambition was to be a medical doctor but I ended up being a lawyer. Care giving is a natural instinct for me; the instinct plays out in the manner House of Justice, our Law organization runs. We use the Law to treat human problems as opposed to just using the law to answer legal questions. On a personal note, I come from a family of energetic and hardworking people who were raised by our parents with deep Christian and life values. I have three siblings- my elder sister Gladys, my younger siblings -Georgia and Gideon all of whom are entrepreneurs. We work till we drop but my father is likely to say to you that Gloria is high strung on truth and justice and very focused on results; I agree with him. The issue of right and wrong are as clear as day and night for me. I like to see things through. I don’t value process over outcome. I think also that I am a bit unusual for our times because those limits placed by culture and society on young women mean nothing to me. I just keep in my face why I was born and  live by it.
As to the toasters and relationships I try to be respectful of their feelings. There are many who love you who you feel nothing for and those you want to die for who no sen you; it’s just the way it goes. If you are a lady climbing the corporate ladder on heels and know what to do, you will be like a shinning bulb on a dark night in July attracting everything but I am lucky to be clear about what I want and to not bow to cultural pressures about it. Thankfully my choice of the man that catches my attention is exclusive. I like the comfort money gives but look out more for what it cannot buy. I have learnt enough in my short stay in life those things that are meaningless and what is of true value. So you find men brandishing all sorts at you and thinking those superficial things will bait; it does nothing to me. I belong to those defined as sapiosexuals, my first connection is the mind before anything else and when I meet those I connect with its electrifying. Again, because I have had my peaks and valleys I don’t make permanent decisions on temporal things but I must confess that any combination of intelligence, hard work, good heart and good looks is a knock out for me.

END...

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Please don't go without leaving me a comment, I'd love to read your thoughts and I appreciate every single one of your comments.

Exclusive Interview With Mercy Kanga, CEO Kaduna Fashion Show

The CEO Kaduna Fashion Show, Mercy Kanga had an exclusive interview with JCB recently where she told us a lot about the Kaduna Fashion Show...

JC- Tell us how you started KFS?

Mercy Kanga - The Kaduna Fashion Show started out as an idea in 2014 Nov, when I passed through the Arewa textile around Kakuri, Kaduna. I asked myself why should a standard textile company in the North be shut down for over 10-15years.  Seeing the fact that in Nigeria now there are no jobs available so I decided to do a wake up call starting from Kaduna here and the question was how do I go about this? In January 2015, with an aim of creating jobs and encouraging skills and youth talents I started my research and publicity, then voila 1st edition held on the 18th of October 2015 and the 2nd edition on the 11th of December 2016.

JC- What do you do in your free time?

Mercy Kanga- Do I actually have free times? I wish! You know how business people are, we believe in 'you waste time the money moves along'. Well I can't actually say I sew all day but when I find myself doing nothing, I watch movies no matter how late the night is, with all passion.

JC- What should people expect in the upcoming Kaduna Fashion Show?

Mercy Kanga - The Kaduna Fashion Show has an aim, which one of it is to bring alive the dying African culture here in Nigeria. people said we promised them the bomb but  gave them an earthquake last year lol!  Well, this year its gonna be massive,  just wait and see. We're cooking up something big.

JC - Do you work alone or you have a Team?

Mercy Kanga - No I don't,  I have a team.

JC - What are some of your challenges

Mercy Kanga -  its a one man business and therefore, finding  sponsors to support events like this, is challenging.  Most times, They are skeptical about investing. Secondly finance is another big challenge, because to fix such an event one needs finance. And you know in every organization there's always a challenge but being an entrepreneur involves risk taking.

JC - What do you think about Fashion Designers in Kaduna.. Who was your best designer at the last edition of Kaduna Fashion Show

Mercy Kanga - Fashion Designers in Kaduna are the bomb, whether he/she just started or has been in the business for long. The Kaduna Fashion Show doesn't award any designer whether you were the best or not but in the last edition my best designer following my judgment was MMK(me and my kaftan) and Badasky fashion house

JC- Which of the designers in Kaduna do you look forward to seeing their work in the upcoming Fashion Show?

Mercy Kanga- I'm looking up to RIK Fashion House. His name Theophilus Gimba Rikan. He's new and hot....

JC- What do you hope to have achieved in the industry, 10 years from now?

Mercy Kanga- In the next 10years, I hope to be the Gucci of Nigeria( Kanga Couture) and I also hope to achieve the re-opening of the Arewa textile. I hope to see a Kaduna filled with jobs opportunities, modeling agencies etc as a result of the Kaduna Fashion Show.

JC- Tell us about the Face of KFS

Mercy Kanga - hmmm! The Face of Kfs is something We introduced  to make our publicity go on one page not having different faces for our adverts. It's something  we introduced last year. we use that to encourage young ladies. Miss Felicia Diriyah our 2016 Face of KFS was picked out because of some achievements she has made in years past to the society, she was miss comely Queen Northeast and her breast cancer sensitization program to secondary schools. And guess what she's from Kaduna State.

JC - How can one be the Face of KFS?

Mercy Kanga -  Its by selection.  We don't sell forms for it.

JC- You always look so great, what's your secret?

Mercy Kanga- Looking good is good business. Gbam!

JC- Any last word, something you want your Fans to know?

1. You can be whatever you want to be if you put your heart to it. It's simple. It's a choice. -Mercy Kanga

2. Add value First, money Will follow - Mercy kanga.

3. Wealth is not in the piece of land,  it's in the mind, think big. -Audu Maikori

JC: Thank You

My Interview With Moses Ayuba A.K.A Menxee

Please introduce yourself
Menxee: My name is Moses Ayuba but most people only know me as Menxee. I'm a singer, rapper, music producer, actor (strictly on stage though) and a motivational speaker in the making *big grin*. I'm a 300 level student of English and Drama in Kaduna State University. I'm a Gbagyi boy born and raised in Kaduna state, most people actually have a hard time believing this truth (lol).
Judith: if you were to be a colour, which Colour will you be?
Menxee: Hmmm, let's see... I'd probably be lemon green, I can't say why though
Judith: Name two things you can't leave home without?
Menxee: I can't leave home without my phone and whatever I have to wear on my wrist.
Judith: Your most embarrassing Moment?
Menxee : Woah! My most embarrassing moment. I really need to think this one through. Ok, It must have been one time in secondary school when I got a 'very high score' in a maths exercise (if you know what I mean) and unfortunately for me, my crush who happened to be my seat mate then, did well in it. My heart was pounding so hard that I was almost certain she could hear it from there, when the teacher finally called out my name (you know that moment when you're expecting a miracle to happen, well IT DIDN'T). To wrap it all up the whole class got to know I was among those with the highest score (from behind) in the class. Glad I wasn't the only one tho LOL.
Judith: What distract you when you are on stage?
Menxee: OMG! Bad sound. When the song sounds like it's being played from a phone and the voice mix sounds like someone's voice at the other end of a phone call. Distracted I become.
Judith: Aside music what do you have a flair for?
Menxee: Drama. Stage drama to be precise. I know a lot of people might be surprised at this, but yes I act and I am very passionate about it too. Wanna see me on stage sometime, come to English and Drama Department Faculty of Arts whenever you hear about a performance going down in the open air theatre in Kasu. *big grin*
Judith:  where do you see yourself in the next 5 Years?
Menxee: I see myself in the sky amongst the stars shining bright and taking this God music all over the world. In five years time? Lord......I see Greatness.
Judith: What projects are you  currently working on?
Menxee: Yes! I love this question. I'm currently working on my debut album which I'm going to officially announce shortly. It's a great project I've been working on for quite sometime now, will be due later in the year. In Addition, I'm working and planning on my future concerts, it's a long term plan though and it will begin before the year runs out. These two projects and more come under an umbrella project I call Project Sound 2016, friends and fans, I'm sure, must have seen me use the hash tag a number of times on social media.
Judith: Are you Single?
Menxee: Hmmm...isn't that something? right now the relationship police be like, "you have the right to remain silent, whatever you say will be used against you in the court of..." Me: Yes sir *winks*
Question:  What do you think about Judith Caleb's Blog (JCB).
Menxee: First of all before I say anything about JCB, I want to applaud the effort you put in to do this. It's 'massive' and I love it. JCB is wow! I especially love the fact that you are interested in young rising talents that will in a short while take over their world. From the first day I came across a link to this blog, I knew I had fallen in love, hehehe. I love and respect your work, you are among the very few individuals in the north who are interested in promoting upcoming and rising stars from around here (also, Shout out to the Turakin Arewa, Jakes Tudu). JCB is the future menh...
Judith: awwww! Lol! Thank you

Judith: what words do you have for your Fans? And how can they get/ download your Music?
Menxee: Yeah! To my fans, I want y'all to know that, like I always say, your boy is in the kitchen cooking and in a bit, you'll be served big. I love you guys, and I want y'all to know the support and love I get from you guys everyday is awesome, menh my birthday was superb because of you guys, God bless y'all. All my songs are available online, you can get some of them here:https://t.co/RxGD05FDjM and the others you can get by simply asking google hehe, yeah just google the title of the song by Menxee and download it, plus you can follow me on twitter for updates on my work @MENXEEBLOW and like my page on Facebook.
