Senate to F.G: Declare security emergency in Kaduna South


 The Senate today called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in Southern Kaduna Senatorial district, over the killing of scores of people in four villages in Chawai Chiefdom of Kamaru Ward in Kauru local government area of the state.

The villages attacked in the recent wave of violence are; Ungwan Rimi, Kitakum, Ungwan Magaji and Kigam.
While speaking at today’s plenary, Senator Danjuma La'ah, who moved the motion on the ‘Urgent Need for the Declaration of Emergency over the Security Situation in Southern Kaduna’, said the move was necessary, following the general atmosphere of insecurity in Southern Kaduna at the moment.

Other senators who spoke on the motion decried the violence in the area saying it is the responsibility of government to secure the lives of people.
