The Minister of State for Budget & National Planning, Hajiya Zainab S. Ahmed earlier today paid Governor Kashim Shettima a courtesy visit at the Government House, Maiduguri.
Accompanied by the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Engr. Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja, Officials from the Defense HQ, and the Presidency, they were on an assignment to convey the effort of the Federal Government to bring some food intervention (30,000 metric tonnes of maize grits, rice, sorghum, millet, and soya beans) to the North East, out of which 50%, about 515 trucks is for Borno State.
The Minister solicited the guidance of Governor Shettima, and to work with his team to see how best to deploy the food items, as she relayed the message from the Ag. President of him personally coming over sometime next week to handover the food items.
