[A Call Toward Rebuilding Our Dying Land]
By : J.F Dabo
Dear Gurarians
There is no other home we have than this, it is OK when we
are frustrated, rejected and treated as second class in Zaria,
Kaduna Central, Jos, Abuja, Lagos, Ibadan, Enugu, Cotonou,
Kenya, Ghana, Cameron, Niger Republic, Germany, the US,
UK and any of the Planets because sure we are strangers
there.
But a visitor here should be the King of there. Our relevance
is not wholly in what we can offer our hosts but in the fact
that our host knows we have a home we would be more
comfortable, happy and proud in should we find is home not
worth it.
Our respect comes when our host knows we are in fact
doing him a favour by staying in his home and not that we
lack a home.
Dear my most beloved ones, I love you, I adore you, I
respect you, and I can die for you. This is not because you
have given me a reason to but because without you I will
own no place call home. I am because you are and we are
because God is.
We have a responsibility to build our home. The recent
happenings, our tragedies I mean, suggests that. They ugly
case in SK does not show me I am rejected by any
Government because no Government have the privilege to
claim ownership of me, I am too important to be owned let
alone rejected. In fact I own the Government and only me
can reject her if I so wish. Hence, our Ordeal tells me how
angry my God is with me for not putting to use the very
many blessings he favoured me with more than others.
He gave me a cultural cluster so unique,
An environment so rich,
A home so bright,
Brothers and sisters so intelligent,
A tradition so special,
...
Sadly I have been foolish enough not to know the beauty of
my home. I who he so design to be a king above kings and
subdue even other kingdoms have now settled for being a
slave on my throne.
Now he chooses the hard way to teach me to listen and
obey his call to greatness. A call that says:
"I have made you (Gurara) to be independent, free,
respected, honoured, adored, Great among nations, united,
strong, vibrant, rich, an asset to the world, a home of faints
and men of goodwill, a collection of wise men, the threat of
tyrants, the hope of the world, and my new Jerusalem in
Nigeria.
You must regain that glory now".
This is attainable my lovely brothers, it is attainable my
lovely sisters. This is attainable by a turn around home,
building and developing skills. I challenge you into trying
that. Build human development, support the great talents at
home, build up businesses, enrich the youth, support
initiatives capable of building the home, show an undying
love for God in Gurara.
This is necessary says the lord of host, because it seem
clear the only time you will be begged to collect your
freedom is when you become a threat to the wicked kings.
That time when Zazzau feels we are soon to render her
useless given our development and achievements. that time
when our children do not need to apply for admission at
ABU where they will hardly be offered or at KASU where
they will only be offered Languages and the many over
populated fields.
That time when we have enough employments for our
graduates, when we have the industries whose social
responsibilities alone leaves no space for government
projects. That time when Governors and even the federation
will be applying for loans from us to fund her projects.
Yes that time when it will be obvious we are a state.
I have a dream that Gurara will be great
I have a dream that we will soon be united,
I have a dream that our tears will soon dry up
I have a dream that we would soon conquer our oppressors,
I have a dream that Gurara will attain self independence
I have a dream that Gurara will soon be the pride of the
nation.
I have a dream that Gurara WILL SOON BE FREE.
WARNING
I am on a journey to making this dream a reality and its
reaching fruition, in this journey, I move as a moving train,
slowly, my doors open, if you want to join you are welcome,
if you do not want to join stay off my track because this
train you see has no break, it is slow but steady on the
move. If you stand on my way I will crush you and move.
I AM POSITIVE ABOUT GURARA, YOU TOO SHOULD BETTER
BE.
