Gunmen kidnap Nasarawa state commissioner's spouses


The wives of Nasarawa state commissioner were kidnapped fron their family home on Thursday
- Their relatives are praying for their lives and freedom as still awaiting demands from the abductors
- The police has launched an investigation and searching for the criminals and their victims
The two wives of Aliyu Tijani, Nasarawa state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, were kidnapped from his residence in Nasarawa town on Thursday night, November 17.
According to an anonymous witness, a gang of about 10 gunmen stormed the house in Nasarawa town, at about 8pm.
They were shooting sporadically into the air before craming the women in their vehicles and driving away in an uknown direction.
Mr Tijani claims their family is still waiting for any demands from the abductors as they have not been contacted yet.
He said: "As I speak with you now, we do not know where my wives are being kept and no one has contacted us. We shall continue to pray for their freedom."

Abubakar Sadiq-Bello, Nasarawa state commissioner of police, has confirmed the incident on Friday and assured of
Mr Sadiq-Bello said the police was on the trail of the kidnappers and would soon apprehend them.
"We are aware of the abduction and as we speak now, we have gotten information about their location and we are closing in on them," he said.
