Boko Haram insurgents have continued to launch pockets of attacks on civilian targets in the Borno state.
Boko Haram insurgents have razed Wasada community in Askira/Uba local government area in southern Borno state, according to a vigilante source.
The insurgents, according to Sahara reporters, launched an attack on the village on Monday, November 14, at about 2pm, shooting sporadically abandon and killing at least two civilians in the attack.
A vigilante source who disclosed the attack to the online platform stated that the whole village was burnt down, with many civilians still missing.
He said livestock and food items were carted away by the terrorists.
“We received distress calls from our members in Wasada village, some of 30 kilometers from Uba, that they were under siege. We went there but nothing was left, as the village had been razed. We found two corpses lying on ground and many villagers with gunshot wounds,” he said.
The source his colleagues moved some of the villagers to Uba, adding that many of the villagers remain missing.
“I can tell you that many are still missing. Our men are on patrol, as we speak, in the hope that they could rescue more villagers,” he said.
