El-Rufai tasks Nigerians on support

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has called on Nigerians to support government at all levels to take and put into effect tough measures needed to begin the process of economic recovery.
El-Rufai, in his 2016 Independence Day address, stated that robust decisions are pending but that Nigerians must support government to overcome the recession.
“Though Nigerians marked this year’s Independence Day in difficult economic circumstances, but it is not beyond us to build a system that will change the situation,” he said.
The governor regretted the resurgence of communal killings in Godogodo Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state and parts of Sanga Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna.
“We have denounced these acts of murder and arson as senseless and barbaric. We have strengthened our security forces to confront the criminal elements responsible for the needless assault on lives and property,” he said.
He urged residents of various communities to avoid taking law into their hands but report all incidents to the security forces.
