Kaduna Will Be Great Again - 321

By: George Makeri
It is becoming clearer that Governor Nasir El-Rufai is about the only governor who takes seriously the gender agenda issues by ensuring that women are fairly represented in government, especially at the federal level.

When he needed a female IMC in Chikun, he searched but couldn't find a befitting Gbagyi lady to put there. Clearly all the Gbagyi ladies were without integrity as well as without the prerequisite qualifications. When he turned to the non-gbagyi Christian ladies loyal to APC, he couldn't find even one without blemish. He took great pains to scout the whole state and couldn't come up with any suitable lady. In his magnanimity and thoughtfulness, Governor El-Rufai had to travel to Kogi State to import a female friend of his to serve the ill-qualified people of Chikun (a Gbagyi enclave). Only El-Rufai's Kogi female friend has the desired prerequisites to sit in that office and El-Rufai was magnanimous enough to convince her to serve. The same thing happened when a minister was needed from Kaduna State, only El-Rufai's foster sister, Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, was qualified for the position and El-Rufai showed great sacrifice by offering his foster sister to serve when she should be resting. His magnanimity didn't stop there, when the Nigerian Port Authority needs a Managing Director, El-Rufai showed great courage and patriotism by sacrificing his most treasured Chief of Staff, Hadiza Bala Usman, for the job. She was worthy of all women and imported from Katsina. Again, INEC needed a commissioner slot from the state and El-Rufai found only Safiya Balarabe Kubau, a biological sister to the aforementioned Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed who represents Kaduna State in the Ministerial Appointment, as the only worthy woman in the entire state. Perhaps when the time is right, El-Rufai will be magnanimous enough to offer his wife for the job of NDDC boss for the Niger Delta. It is the love to serve that is leading El-Rufai to bring in all his family members and not the love to lord it over others as critics will always claim. Even though these choices for State and Federal appointments, as made by Governor El-Rufai, do not respect the dictates of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that seeks balance for the fair representation of the diversity of peoples that populate a state, El-Rufai flouted the rules based on his, his friends' and his family members' great love to serve Nigeria.

The cries from the southern Kaduna people is something like: 'since El-Rufai belongs to the Muslim north, the Christian south were the people most short-changed by such family and friends choices.' But El-Rufai was only trying to avoid stressing the southern Kaduna Christians with any federal appointment, instead he offered his family members to serve. O what a great sacrifice. The pains El-Rufai, his friends and family suffer to build Kaduna State and Nigeria. They are so magnanimous that even where the indigenes of Kaduna State were not qualified, they didn't wickedly still push them to go and serve, they offered their qualified selves for service instead.

This is exactly how to make Kaduna Great Again. All hail El-Rufai for this great sacrifice of friends (even from other states) and family members just to make Kaduna great again. The entire unqualified citizens of Kaduna State should not cease to praise El-Rufai for his selflessness in offering his qualified friends and family to serve. On a final note, please join me in thanking El-Rufai for paying eighty out of two thousand newly employed teachers their salaries in arrears of five months. The beneficiaries are celebrating the governor's magnanimity and kindness. We must celebrate the governor too and urge the nearly two thousand yet to be paid teachers that they should be patient as the banks are the problem behind the delays in their salaries.

Indeed Kaduna is getting great again.
