Kaduna Deputy Speaker In Illegal Electricity Connection Palaver…… Blames It On PDP

Staff of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company held a protest on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at the residence of the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna state House of Assembly, Hon. John Audu Kwaturu, to protest the alleged arrest and unlawful detention of two of their staff on the orders of the deputy speaker.
Procyon News reporter who spoke with some of the protesters gathered that the Deputy speaker ordered the arrest of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC) staff for daring to disconnect power supply to his house even when he was in default in payment of his bill.
Comrade Amedu, Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees, when briefing Newsmen   said Hon. John Audu, the Deputy speaker of Kaduna state house of Assembly, went to the KEDC in Sabon Tasha to intimidate and arrest two of their workers, Comrade Danjuma Stephen and Comrade Olabode, who were detained at the Sabon Tasha Police station for over 4 hours.
Comrade Amedu, said that staff of KEDC on official duty had gone to the house located at Mahuta, Kaduna, to disconnect power supply because the house was illegally connected and in default of payment of electricity bill.
Amedu , wondered why someone that is supposed to be an “Honourable” law maker  decided to behave so “Dishonourably” saying  that John Audu should come and regularize his power supply registration and pay his bill because KEDC is a private company and that there is no law that exempts the Deputy Speaker from paying his “Light Bill”.
