Southern Kaduna recorded a series of mishaps and embroils our memories with bitter-sad past. But truth be told; a merry heart does good like medicine, and that’s absolutely one antidotes we can dose. And you’ll have no second thought on agreeing with me that as a family the bond only gets stronger by communing. For this cause Chong Dovetail was birth.
CHONG DOVETAIL
It’s a cool harmattan Sunday evening hangout at a traditional themed venue packed with casually dressed Southern Kaduna folks, the menu features local chops like Waina, kosai, gunun geda, zobo, 404, Pork, pate Etc. And steadily being thrilled with the back to flow of entertainment by local and new age acts from southern Kaduna (including local dance troops, xylophonist, etc).
Now I’m pretty sure that played a peaceful gathering scene in your head, and it’s awesome yeah?
Chong Dovetail is an event aimed at bringing together Southern Kaduna bloods together at the end of the year few days before traveling to various home towns for the festivities. This definitely creates a bond amongst us as a family and without a doubt “a United family will find it easy smooth to quench unfriendly fire shot at it”.
THE NAME.
*Chongai refers to indigenes of Southern Kaduna State. A people with a big heart who are predominantly farmers and hunters.
*Dovetail; a verb meaning to fit or cause to fit together easily and conveniently.
From where I stand as a Bajju boy, “Chong” means “walk” and a dove symbolizes peace and a Dovetail is synonymic to “Link Up”.
Connect the dots yourself.
