About four persons were killed on Wednesday when members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shiite and some irate youths in the Muslim dominated area of Tudun Wada in Kaduna metropolis clashed.
The irate youths were said to have made the Shiite members their target, demolished the Islamic school the group built in the area while the four people that were killed are believed to be members of the IMN.
The Kaduna state government had, last week, placed a ban on the activities of the IMN, after categorizing the group as an illegal organisation.
The state government also directed security agencies to arrest it's spokesman, Ibrahim Musa accusing him of issuing a widely publicized statement for an illegal group.
The Shiite members alleged that the police instigated the attack on them.
There had been clamped down on members of the Islamic group following persistent and massive protests by its members demanding the release of their leader. Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky who had been in detention since December 12, 2015, following his arrest during a clash between his group and the Nigerian Army in Zaria.

Members of the sect were said to have made frantic efforts to address a Press Conference at the Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ), but the journalists were said to have deserted the Press Centre out of fears that security agents may invade the place to arrest the Shiite members.
The residence of one Muktar, said to be a leader of the Shiite in the area, was equally set a blazed but the timely arrival of men of the fire service quenched the fire.
Self-acclaimed spokesman of the IMN, Ibrahim Musa, could not be reached on the issue as his phone was switched off. He was declared wanted last week by the state government.
Spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, Aliyu Usman, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), denied the sect's allegations that the police instigated the attack.
He said by the time the police arrived the area, the killings had already taken place.
He however said police was still observing the situation, adding that everything was being done to ensure law and order.
