A fresh outbreak of bird flu has been recorded in a small farm in Kaduna state.

Dahiru Abdullahi, an information officer in the ministry of agriculture and forestry development, made the disclosure to NAN on Friday.
Abdullahi said the virus was detected two weeks ago at farm situated in Kujama, Chikun local government area of the state.
He, however, said that the situation had since been brought under control with the affected farm quarantined to avoid further spread.
Abdullahi explained that the incident had been reported to the bird flu desk of the World Bank in Abuja, for further necessary measures.
“While adequate measures are being taken by the livestock department of the ministry, the affected farm had since been isolated to curtail the virus from spread,” Abdullahi said.
“We are also sensitising poultry farmers to report any sign of the virus on their farms to officials of the ministry.”
