Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Thursday, August 18, paid a visit to Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who was rescued recently from kidnappers.

Durunguwa, who is a large scale farmer and businessman, was kidnapped at gunpoint by unknown gunmen last Friday, August 12, in Kaduna.

He later regained his freedom, though no details were given on how he was rescued.

In a bid to address the recent killings in Southern Kaduna, the governor chaired a meeting of the State Security Council in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a local government area on Tuesday, August 16.
Governor El-Rufai condemned the cycle of killings in the state, describing it as unjustifiable and senseless.
“ We are saddened by the needless shedding of blood. We condemn lawless conduct and the disregard for life that the killers have shown. If anyone has a problem, he should not take the laws in to his own hands; instead he should report to security agencies who are trained to deal with such situations ,” the governor said
