Omisore Denies Speaker Dogara; says "I’m not his godfather"

Iyiola Omisore, a former deputy governor of Osun State, has dismissed claims by Abdulmumin Jibrin that he godfather to Speaker of the House of Reps, Mr Yakubu Dogara, saying Hon. Jibrin’s attempt to implicate him in the budget padding scandal is unfortunate.
Jibrin, former chairman, Appropriations Committee of the House of Representatives, had alleged that Omisore is the godfather of Dogara in a letter he wrote to APC chairman, Oyegun.
But speaking through his Media Adviser, Prince Diran Odeyemi, Omisore said:
“He is not a member of the House of Reps and there is nothing wrong having friends across the country. So, if he (Omisore) has friends across the country and somebody wants to rope him in any issue, it is very unfortunate and it is very unfortunate.”
Speaking further, he said Omisore “is not a member of APC and everybody knows that. As a senior colleague and former member of the Senate, he relates with virtually all politicians in this country. So, for somebody to accuse him (Omisore) of being a godfather to anybody, it is unfair.”
