Hajj 2016: Kaduna begins medical screening for intending pilgrims

The Kaduna state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board on Monday commenced medical screening of the state's intending pilgrims for this year’s Hajj to ascertain their health status before the journey.
A statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi, said that the medical screening is compulsory for all the intending pilgrims from the state and it would be conducted only in government designated hospitals.
He said all prospective pilgrims are expected to attend the medical screening, while female pilgrims in addition would undergo pregnancy test.
“The medical and pregnancy tests are absolutely necessary and compulsory, so any pilgrim who refuses to attend it can lose his or her Hajj seat”, the statement said.
The statement advised intending pilgrims to collect medical cards from their respective registration officers before going to the hospitals for the screening.
