Gov. El-rufai Vows No Going Back On Demolishing Gbagyi- Villa

By Raba Press

Mal.Nasir El-Rufa, Kaduna APC led
Governor has today  Thursday tells who ever cares to listing that , no going back in demolishing  all the  illegal structures built on Kaduna Polytechnic land at Gbagyi-Villa ,Sabon-Tasha area , Kaduna

The governor said this  while addressing Journalists after a tour of the encroached Kaduna Polytechnic land at Gbagyi-Villa.
He stressed,  “It is unfortunate that some people have deceived to think that this land is available for sale, El-rufai added,
encroachment on the land is a tragedy in many ways ,because on the one hand Kaduna Polytechnic got allocated the place nearly 40 years ago for the purpose of establishing initially a school of mining and subsequently a college of environmental studies , which would have brought great benefit not only to the Gbagyi community ,but also Kaduna State and country as well .
The governor decried that,  Unfortunately , as we stand today , according to Kadpoly Rector and I believe him, nearly 70 per cent of the Land has been encroached by illegal squatters , stressing  this buildings will have to go .
"The state government went through a process, gave everyone opportunity to show that he or she has a title to the land and approval to build , saying,  “If you don’t have these two , the law will apply and we would take the buildings down.” He maintained.
According to him," we are going to investigate and find out all those involved in this deception and they  would be dealt with by the government”
El-rufai who said, the law will prevail and ignorance of law is no defence, stressed, it is  unfortunate to see that many people will lose thousands and millions of naira of their savings for building illegally.”
Before you build anything, make sure you have Certificate of Occupancy for the land or building and get approval ,if you don’t have it , your building is at risk ” He noted..
According to jim,“we did not conduct illegality in this case and in Kaduna State , you can not hide behind your religious or ethnic group to break the law and get away with it.”
Commenting on the  matter of the case in court over the disputed land he stressed, the the case in court has little to do with breaking the law, pointing out that," if you break the you can’t go to court, adding, this is a criminal act and the case in court is a civil matter ."
He then stressed",you cannot steal and go to court to stop prosecution . There are two separate matter , the law must be applied for all of us to be saved .”
