Reacting to the suspension, Suleiman Ahmed, the senator’s aide, noted that those who wrote the letter want to stop Sani from voicing his views about what he considers the anti-people policies of El-Rufai’s administration.
“They are toeing the line of the state secretariat of the party.
“So our reaction is that those that wrote this letter are ignorant of the party’s constitution and they are dancing to the tune of the state executive of the party and Governor Nasir El-Rufai,” Ahmed added.
Sani has always been very outspoken over some of Governor El-Rufai’s policies. A few weeks ago, the senator condemned the Kaduna carnivalorganised by the state government, accusing the governor of being insensitive to the plight of local people by organising a music festival when the state and the country face economic and security challenges.
